Companies often think that stress or work overload can be solved by throwing something at it. Well-intentioned solutions such as access to wellbeing apps, or health weeks, or free yoga sessions, and so on.

The problem is – it’s like adding another straw to the camel’s back. You don’t want to break the camel’s back by adding another task to an already overloaded workload.

What you want to do is take some of the weight off and tackle the problem at the source. And I understand that’s not always easy in the corporate world. It’s the sheer volume of work, coupled with the administrative burden.

One step is to recognise and accept that the work never ends. And that can be a first step towards some relief.
