Do you know what it means to rest in awareness? It’s really exhausting to constantly think about what the future might hold, how to meet deadlines, difficult decisions to be made, that uncomfortable phone call you have to make, or whether we’re about to kill the planet.
You’re disconnected from the present moment when you’re stuck in future-oriented thinking. What you want is clarity. What you get is anxiety because you’re anticipating problems and uncertainties.
It doesn’t matter if you’re in a leadership role or if you’re thinking about becoming politically active – it’s in the present that clarity will come. Right here and now, rest in Awareness and not getting lost in thinking.
If you’re in that kind of thinking, have a look at what’s there right now? Articulate that experience and it will help to bring you back. Awareness is not some woowoo thing that is only accessible to the few. Awareness is what’s always there. Whether you think or not. Here’s a little challenge that can help you with this: In between your thoughts, what is it that’s there? If not a thought?
