Many companies are addressing this topic on LinkedIn. Additionally, I am aware of numerous companies that organise a health week at work. During this week, employees can participate in various health activities such as yoga or meditation.
Health and wellbeing play a crucial role in the success of any company. However, a single day or week dedicated to these activities is not enough. It is also insufficient if these activities are done merely for the sake of doing them.
I understand that there are usually dedicated individuals and teams behind these initiatives who genuinely care about the well-being of the company and its employees. However, as long as it is acceptable for employees to work excessive hours without being able to share their struggles or seek support, these efforts will not have a significant impact.
Moreover, businesses should combat the stigma around mental health issues. Encouraging employees to seek support when needed and promoting work-life balance are vital steps. It’s not only a shared responsibility but also a recipe for success: working hard and staying healthy and sane is possible.
The key is sustained and sincere support.
