Think it’s hard to make meaningful change?
The good news is, you’re not alone.
The truth is, if nothing changes, nothing changes. It is as simple as that.
You may be struggling to make changes to your career, the way you deal with pressure and stress, your working hours and more.
The reason nothing seems to change or improve may be because you’re waiting for a better time to make a change (it never comes), you think you need to know all the details (you don’t), or you’re hoping someone else will make a change for you (they won’t).
After reading this, you’ve got a choice:
- continue to wait or hope
- Do something about it
If you don’t know what to do, it helps to take a step back.
Start with a clean slate. Instead of focusing on all the details of a possible solution, think of the very first simple step you need to take to get there.
Not the end result. The first step. e.g. block an hour in the calendar to update your CV, or make a short list of people who can help you challenge the way you work (e.g. peers, mentors, coaches), what you need to block half a day this weekend to work on your personal development (e.g. no phone, time without family).
If you feel paralysed when it comes to making changes in your life or career. Forget about the end result you’re aiming for. Start with the smallest possible step in front of you.
