Leadership isn’t rocket science, but it’s often made out to be. The barrage of expectations, tasks, and responsibilities combined with a lack of a support system can be challenging to navigate.

But in the end – it’s a people’s business.

And it matters whether you care about people.
It matters that your team feels seen and heard.
That you respect them, acknowledge them and treat them equally.

That is not rocket science.
But…

In the corporate world, these things are often just seen as soft skills.

Soft skills are equated with emotions and personal traits and those apparently don’t go well together with the corporate world.

But it should be about empathy, communication, listening – all essential for a well functioning and performing team.

If people are the challenging part about being a leader, then those soft skills really aren’t all that soft, are they?
