Yesterday I read a post about why kindness matters.
It’s 2025, we have divisive election results around the globe. The climate is changing faster than we want it to, AI is making many people not only hopeful, but anxious.
More pressure, more unknowns than ever. A lot of people get caught up in discussions and arguments. A lot of heated energy from different point of views and assumptions.
And yet here was this post talking about kindness.
And I thought it hit the nail on the head.
In the last few weeks and months I’ve heard so much negativity and intolerance.
Not just in politics, but in the workplace.
A lot of judgement, a lot of hatred, a lot of unwillingness to understand, to listen or even to have a conversation. And certainly not a lot of kindness.
Would kindness change everything? No, I’m not naive. Even if I always believe that the willingness to simply listen to the other party would already go a long way. But sometimes it’s not that easy, I know.
Kindness matters still and always will. And the disconnect we humans have with the world we live in certainly plays a big part in all of this. Humans willingly destroy their own world, without taking into consideration how much it affects them, too.
If we could see that we are as interconnected with everything around us as we are with the ‘natural world’, we’d treat each other with more dignity and respect, and we’d have the power to create real positive change. Even more so, we are also the ‘natural world’ and not some outlier in this sense.
Connect with me on LinkedIn or send me an email over my contact page, I’d love to know how you feel about this. And I’d love to know what keeps your mind busy these days.
