Finding your inspiration

Summary

Amidst the daily grind, it's crucial to pause and reflect on your purpose and priorities. I was fortunate to experience this firsthand through a meaningful project at UBS, where I collaborated with inspiring individuals like Professor Stephen Hawking. True inspiration often lies in the journey itself, not just the destination. I urge you to watch this video of Professor Hawking and consider what truly matters in your own life and leadership. If it sparks something within you—or even if it doesn’t—let's connect over coffee.

Sometimes you have to take a breath and ask yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing.

What’s truly in it for you?

What’s left for life beyond work?

How much time you get to spend with your family, loved ones, yourself?

Sometimes you need that extra inspiration to keep you going or to help change the path you’re on.

Years ago, when I was at a senior marketing role at UBS, a once in a lifetime project came along that shook my professional foundation.

The project itself turned out to be one of the most meaningful and satisfying I ever got to work on and it inspired me beyond what I could have imagined.

I will always remember all the fantastic, unique, professional, inspiring and creative people we got to work with.

One such person was none other than the late Professor Stephen Hawking.

When his contribution was confirmed, the excitement and awe we all felt were palpable. We wanted to achieve something extraordinary – and yet, the process itself was extraordinary.

When Professor Hawking died in 2018, Cambridge University released this video, based on a message he had recorded for his 75th birthday.

I urge you to watch it and to take a moment to reflect on what truly matters in your own life and leadership.

If you lack inspiration after this, let’s have coffee, shall we? And actually the same if you are inspired.
