Don’t compare yourself

All it needs is to read someone else’s LinkedIn post. Heck, even a LinkedIn headline can be enough. And immediately you’re taken aback.

Why? Because someone posted a success story and talked about the great effort and work it took to get there.

And we could all be cheering that person and congratulating them. But a typical feeling that people have is one of feeling down.

And that’s because they compare themselves to others. They compare achievements and wonder why they haven’t done the same.

But the truth is, every journey is unique. What you see on LinkedIn or any other platform is often a highlight reel, showcasing the best moments and achievements. It doesn’t show the setbacks, the doubts, or the hard work that went on behind the scenes.

Comparing yourself to others can be a disheartening trap. It can make you lose sight of your own progress and the path you’re on. Remember that success comes in various forms and at different times for each individual. What matters most is your personal growth, your dedication, and the small steps you take every day.

Instead of feeling down, let these stories inspire you. Use them as a source of motivation. Celebrate the successes of others, and also celebrate your own. Take a moment to reflect on your journey, the obstacles you’ve overcome, and the goals you’ve achieved.

So, the next time you come across a success story on LinkedIn, don’t let it bring you down. Let it remind you that your unique journey is just as valuable and full of potential. Keep moving forward, and success will find its way to you in your own time.
