Day 3: What can you differently?

Let’s continue our mini coaching sessions for December:

Sunday afternoons often bring some unease. It’s that all-too-familiar pre-Monday blues, signaling that the weekend is almost over. And with this a new week of challenges is about to start.

But what if we could shift that feeling? Instead of letting negativity set the tone for the week ahead, try and flip the script. Don’t dwell on potential stressors or obstacles that might arise in your work. Or those in your personal life, or relationships. You can pose a constructive question to yourself:

What can you do differently this week, that will make your work/life/relationships better?

Chances are, you’ve already got some ideas. Maybe it’s approaching a project with a fresh perspective. Or maybe it s carving out quality time for loved ones, or finally starting that wellness routine you’ve been putting off. Be brutally honest with yourself. Note it. And then take action.

Imagining the ideal week ahead

Maybe you are struggling to pinpoint where to start? Don’t restrain your thoughts. Picture your ideal week—let it be a dreamlike vision of what could be. What shifts in your routine, attitude, or approach would make this dream week a reality? What steps are necessary to bridge the gap between the present and this ideal scenario?

This exercise isn’t just about wishful thinking. It’s about setting tangible, achievable goals for improving your work-life balance and enhancing relationships. It’s about recognising that, with thoughtful adjustments and proactive choices, significant positive changes are within reach.

Give this process a try. Relish the creativity and optimism it brings. I’m always here to listen and discuss your reflections on this exercise.

What thoughts came up today, share if you feel like it. See yesterday’s question here.
